Creating and publishing an event

Turn a private draft into an audience-facing event with the right visibility and ticket settings.

Events and drafts

An event is the public-facing page for a show. It can appear in discovery and on your venue calendar, and it can sell tickets when ticketing is enabled.

When you start an event, StageCircuit saves your work as a private draft. You can leave and return to it from your profile under Events.

Complete the event details

  1. 1Add the event image, title, description, date, start time, time zone, location, genre, and useful tags.
  2. 2Choose public visibility for an event anyone may discover, or limit the audience when the event is intended for selected people or groups.
  3. 3For a free event, decide whether entry requires a ticket for reservations or check-in. Paid events always require ticketing. Set the price and capacity carefully.
  4. 4If tickets are required, open the reusable test ticket from the venue’s Tickets page and scan it while the event is still a draft. Test each camera or dedicated scanner you plan to use.
  5. 5Once the ticket validates correctly and the event details are complete, click Post Event when you’re ready to publish.

Before a paid event can go live

  • Your venue must be verified before it can publish an event.
  • Every paid event requires ticketing and completed payout setup so ticket revenue has a destination.
  • Free events can be ticketed when you need capacity control and check-in, or unticketed when registration is unnecessary.
