Stagecircuit Terms of Service
Last Updated: October 20, 2026
Welcome to Stagecircuit. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Stagecircuit platform, including our website, services, applications, and related features (collectively, the “Platform”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using Stagecircuit, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.
1. Definitions
For purposes of these Terms:
- “Stagecircuit”, “we,” “our,” or “us” refers to the Stagecircuit platform.
- “User” means any individual or organization using the Platform.
- “Venue” refers to any user seeking to hire performers or entertainment services.
- “Performer” refers to any user offering entertainment or performance services through the Platform.
- “Booking” means an agreement initiated through Stagecircuit in which a Venue hires a Performer for a specific event or service.
- “Booking Description” means the listing, proposal, or agreed-upon description of the services to be performed.
2. About Stagecircuit
Stagecircuit is an online marketplace that connects independent performers and venues.
Stagecircuit is not an employer, talent agency, booking agency, manager, representative, or partner of any user. Stagecircuit does not supervise, direct, or control the services provided by performers or the activities of venues.
Any agreement entered into through Stagecircuit is solely between the Venue and the Performer.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or otherwise have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements in your jurisdiction, to use Stagecircuit.
By using the Platform, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and current.
4. User Accounts
Users are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
- Providing accurate profile information.
- Keeping account information up to date.
- All activity occurring under their account.
Users may not create fake accounts or impersonate another person or organization.
5. Bookings
Bookings are created when a Venue and Performer agree upon the services to be provided.
The Booking Description serves as the primary reference for determining the obligations of both parties.
Users are encouraged to clearly specify:
- Event date and time
- Performance duration
- Type of performance
- Compensation
- Equipment requirements
- Special expectations
6. Payments
Stagecircuit uses Stripe Connect to process payments.
Payments are processed through Stripe Connect. New paid event-ticket purchases and Stagecircuit-processed gig offers require a US bank account for ACH debit in USD. Stagecircuit initiates the Venue's gig payment when the Performer accepts an offer and collects payment for event tickets at checkout. ACH payments may take several business days to confirm or may fail. A payment is not secured until Stripe confirms it succeeded.
Stagecircuit charges a platform fee equal to 3.5% of the transaction subtotal on every paid event-ticket purchase and every paid Venue-to-Performer gig transaction processed through Stagecircuit. The fee is calculated on the ticket price or agreed Performer compensation, rounded to the nearest cent, and added to the amount paid by the ticket purchaser or Venue.
The event Venue receives the stated ticket price and the Performer receives the stated gig compensation, subject to refunds, disputes, chargebacks, payment-processing adjustments, and these Terms. The platform fee is separately disclosed before payment. Unpaid gigs do not have a performance payment and are not charged this fee.
For Stagecircuit-processed gig offers:
- Stagecircuit initiates the Venue's payment when the Performer accepts. Stripe may require additional processing time or reject a payment; Stagecircuit cannot guarantee when funds will arrive in the Performer's bank account.
- Stagecircuit holds a successful payment for at least 48 hours after the gig's scheduled start before initiating its transfer to the Performer, to allow either party to report a cancellation, non-performance, or other qualifying problem.
- If a qualifying complaint is submitted during that period, Stagecircuit pauses the unreleased transfer until the complaint is resolved. This review helps protect Venues from paying for services not delivered and Performers from improper payment claims.
For paid event tickets, Stagecircuit holds successful ticket payments until at least 48 hours after the event's scheduled start before initiating transfer to the Venue. A timely qualifying complaint pauses any unreleased transfer during review. Stripe's processing and payout schedules may delay arrival in the Venue's bank account.
Stagecircuit reserves the right to delay payment releases when investigating suspected fraud, violations of these Terms, or other circumstances that reasonably require additional review.
7. Cancellations
If a Venue cancels a booking before the scheduled event, the Performer will generally not receive payment and the Venue will receive a refund.
Travel difficulties, weather conditions affecting travel, scheduling conflicts, or similar circumstances do not automatically constitute a cancellation by the Venue.
Users are encouraged to communicate directly regarding unexpected circumstances before submitting disputes.
8. Disputes
Either party to a gig booking, or a purchaser of an event ticket, may submit a complaint within 48 hours after the scheduled start of the gig or event. A timely qualifying complaint pauses any unreleased payment to the Performer or Venue. A later complaint may still be reviewed but does not automatically pause a transfer.
Disputes should be submitted through Stagecircuit’s designated dispute email address and may include supporting evidence such as:
- Photographs
- Videos
- Audio recordings
- Messages
- Contracts
- Documents
- Receipts
- Witness statements
- Any other relevant materials
Stagecircuit will review all submitted evidence and determine an appropriate resolution in its sole discretion.
Possible outcomes include:
- Full payment to the Performer
- Full refund to the Venue
- Partial refund
- Partial payment
- Any other reasonable resolution supported by the available evidence
Performance Standard
Stagecircuit evaluates disputes based on whether the services provided substantially matched the Booking Description agreed upon by the parties.
Subjective opinions regarding performance quality, artistic style, audience enjoyment, or personal preference are generally not considered valid grounds for a refund.
A Performer who completes the agreed-upon services in accordance with the Booking Description will generally be entitled to payment.
Material deviations from the agreed services—including, but not limited to:
- Failure to appear
- Arriving so late that the agreed services cannot reasonably be completed
- Performing a substantially different act than advertised
- Failing to provide the agreed number of performers
- Otherwise failing to fulfill the Booking Description
may result in a full or partial refund, withholding of payment, or another resolution determined by Stagecircuit after reviewing the available evidence.
9. Platform Fees
The current Stagecircuit platform fee is 3.5% of the transaction subtotal per paid transaction. For ticket purchases, the purchaser pays the fee in addition to the listed ticket price. For Stagecircuit-processed gigs, the Venue pays the fee in addition to the Performer's agreed compensation. No platform fee is charged on a free ticket or other transaction with no charge.
The fee is calculated and charged in the transaction currency and rounded to the nearest smallest currency unit. The total charge and fee are displayed before payment or authorization.
Stagecircuit reserves the right to modify platform fees at any time.
Any fee changes will apply prospectively and will be communicated through the Platform.
10. Event Incentive Program
Stagecircuit may provide promotional incentive rewards to eligible Venues that post events and check in attendees using Stagecircuit tickets. One separate, valid, Stripe-verified ticket that is successfully scanned for its posted event earns one incentive point.
Each event can earn four incremental incentive rewards: $10 upon reaching 10 eligible points; an additional $15 at 25 eligible points; an additional $25 at 50 eligible points; and an additional $100 at 100 eligible points. The cumulative rewards are $10, $25, $50, and a maximum of $150 per event. Each milestone is paid once. Earned, unpaid rewards remain available until the Venue requests a payout using the event incentive payout button. Stagecircuit transfers the advertised reward amount directly to the Venue's eligible connected Stripe account when that request succeeds, subject to account eligibility and the review provisions below. Unsuccessful transfers remain available for the Venue to retry. The payout confirmation shows the amount transferred. It may take up to a few days for the money to appear in the Venue's bank account, subject to Stripe's payout schedule and requirements.
To limit fraud and manipulation, one Stripe payment method may contribute no more than eight incentive points to a single event, and only tickets from that payment method’s first three qualifying purchase transactions for that event may contribute points. Tickets beyond either limit may remain valid for admission but do not earn incentive points.
Duplicate scans, invalid or inactive tickets, tickets without a verified Stripe-backed purchase, and tickets associated with cancelled, refunded, disputed, reversed, or charged-back payments are not eligible. Payment-method identifiers may be compared using privacy-protective derived identifiers to enforce these limits across tickets.
Incentive payouts require an eligible Stripe connected account. Stagecircuit may delay, deny, withhold, offset, or recover an incentive when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, payment reversals, technical errors, or violations of these Terms. Venues are responsible for taxes arising from incentive payments.
The incentive program is promotional and may be modified, suspended, or ended prospectively. Changes will not reduce an incentive tier already validly earned before the effective time of the change, except where fraud, abuse, payment reversal, or error is involved.
